Person Centered, Trauma Informed Sessions

We work with where you are today

1 to 1’s or Individual Sessions are such an integral part of the process of healing from trauma and other mental health related symptoms. All of our teachers are trained not just to teach you about their field of expertise but how this area will help you heal and grow….

They work perfectly alongside your psychotherapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, GP or any other mental health practitioner you are working with.

Everything we offer also works perfectly alongside any medication treatment you are receiving too.

I can safely say that the sessions have made a huge difference to my overall balance and approach – having the benefit of being able to compare this exam sitting with the one I did same time last year, I was far better equipped to recognise and address the crescendos in anxiety.
I am truly grateful for your time, instruction and guidance – it is definitely something I will continue to pursue, but without the narrow focus on exam pressure and hopefully a far broader and enduring application to my life. Thank you

YOUR TEAM:

Trauma & Anxiety Informed Care? What is it?

A trauma & anxiety informed approach is, at its heart, a relationship-based approach: it creates an opportunity for the therapist or the trainer to work with you to understand and identify your triggers, develop coping skills, and empower you to grow from the experience/event.
  • What is different to a non-informed approach to trauma?

We understand and respect boundaries. We are trained to listen and respond in a way that makes you feel heard. How we communicate, and our understanding of how your mind is interpreting the environment

  • Do we diagnose?

No, we are not here to diagnose what you have or where these symptoms may have come from. Absolutely we will soften the event/experience (s) using well researched techniques that will begin to soften your inner worlds reactions. We won't tell you how many sessions you need, or how often. We will be like the co-pilot to help guide you to grow from the trauma.

  • What is the process?

The types of activities we have chosen (mindfulness, yoga, weight lifting, massage etc) have been well researched in recent years to help trauma sufferers to begin to trust their body and mind again. They work wonderfully well alongside all talking therapies. Whether through our human givens approach or a local counsellor, psychologist, psychotherapist or psychiatrist.

  • Can I access the services on medication?

Absolutely. We are not here to diagnose, or recommend. We completely understand the necessity for medications when prescribed. we are not here to judge whether right now you need them or not. All of the trauma informed service we offer will work wonderfully well alongside medication.

  • Are these services just for people struggling with their mental health?

Not at all. What we teach is resilience not just recovery. We teach tools and techniques, skills, strategies and tools that are transferable, relatable and call-onable if your mental health takes a bit of a dip in the future.

Adam Smith’s famous book, The Wealth of Nations, published in Great Britain in 1776, distinguished between the outputs of what he termed “productive” and “unproductive” labor.
